It was srping of 1988 during an adventure to Europe that Lester's eyes were open to a whole new world of beer. Brewpubs were everywhere. Each had their own family recipe, robust darks to flavorful lighter beers and everything inbetween. Lester's home brewing began within a few days upon his return home. It was hard to make enough for himself and friends.
In 1991 an opportunity presented itself to assist the Quality Assurance Department at Stroh's Brewery Corporate Headquarters in Detroit, MI. in the Flavor Analysis Lab. In Lester's spare time he hung out at R & D Brewery learning all aspects of raw material processing, brewing and packaging. In 1997 with Stroh's future in question and Lester's longing for Northern Michigan growing stronger Lester accepted the Head Brewer position at Bear River Brewing Company in Petoskey, a satelite brewery of Boyne River Brewery in Boyne City, MI.
By 1999 Lester found himself at Big Buck Brewery in Gaylord, MI. producing some of Michigan's finest microbrewed lagers and ales. A change in vision and licensing at Big Buck Brewery led Lester to Bayside Beverage as a warehouse manager in 2002. After three years in the warehouse Lester was moved to merchandising mainly in the Gaylord area. Two years later Lester began in the sales department.
To date in 2008 Lester services the Cheboygan, Indian River, Mackinaw City and West Black Lake area. Lester looks forward to "Talking Beer With You".
